PET là viết tắt của từ Polyethylene terephtharate, là một loại nhựa nhiệt dẻo thuộc nhóm polyeste dùng trong công nghiệp. Bên cạnh cái tên PET, loại nhựa này còn được biết đến với tên PETE, PETP hay PET-P… Hình dạng nguyên thủy của nó là hạt tròn, qua một loạt công đoạn thì mới tạo nên sản phẩm.

Quy trình sản xuất chai nhựa PET

Bước đầu tiên trong quá trình sản xuất là tạo phôi chai. Hạt nhựa trước khi nung nóng phải được lựa chọn kĩ lưỡng. Nhựa nung chảy sẽ được cho vào máy ép để tạo ra phôi. Phôi chai có dạng hình trụ, miệng lớn hơn với kích thước và trọng lượng tuỳ thuộc vào thiết kế yêu cầu và máy móc kĩ thuật. Thời gian hình thành phôi chai thường khá ngắn, chit từ vài chục giây đến vài phút. Sau khi phôi chai đã thành hình sẽ chờ nguội và được công nhân kiểm tra, chọn lọc. Những phôi đạt chuẩn thì mới đưa sang công đoạn tiếp theo.

Công đoạn tiếp theo trong quy trình sản xuất chai nhựa PET là thổi chai. Đầu tiên, phôi chai sẽ được đi qua máy sấy để làm mềm dẻo (khác với nóng chảy). Một hệ thống thổi hơi và nén khí được huy động tạo áp suất nhằm tạo hình và định hình theo khuôn sản phẩm. Trong quá trình này, cần phải đảm bảo môi trường vô trùng và sạch sẽ để vi khuẩn và bụi bẩn không thể xâm nhập. Chất lượng sản phẩm có thể bị giảm sút và có thể còn ảnh hưởng đến sức khoẻ người tiêu dùng.

Cuối cùng, chai nhựa sẽ được lấy ra khỏi khuôn. Từ đây, chai nhựa đã hoàn thành và có thể được cất trữ cũng như vận chuyển cho khách hàng.
